Sandra works in large-scale mixed-media installations, painting, writing, as well as in independent curatorial practices. Though trained as a painter, many of her installations include large format photographs and extensive video work. Her colorful and often painfully funny works cross a diverse range of expression—from abstract painted algorithmic patterns to fictional ‘Holocaust Educational Kits.’ Her work has been included in exhibitions all over the United States, most recently in the Gallery Homeland exhibition, Kunsthalle: Deutschland nach Portland. As an arts educator and independent curator she has developed and managed shows for multiple non-profit organizations in the Pacific Northwest including the environmental activist group Bark as well as the Oregon College of Art and Craft. She has also co-organized free community-based portfolio review events for high school art students at the Boise Art Museum and the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane, Washington.
